FMM - Happy V-Day!

Happy Valentine's Day, Everyone! And welcome to another beautiful Monday. If you haven't already, head on over to Kenz's Blog and play along with this Friend Makin' Monday. It's a great way to get to know your fellow bloggers and meet some new ones!

This week is all about that Valentine's Day, whether you love it or hate it, we all have to deal with it.

How do you plan on celebrating Valentine's Day?

The Hubby and I already did our mini get away over the weekend, so today was a slow day. K went to school for her first ever Valentine's party. She had a blast!

The husband and I started our diets this morning. He is doing The Gracie Diet. One of the major things in this book is about getting the family involved. Candy is not a huge issue in our house, but it is a little more trouble than it should be. There is one small part of the book that talks about how the Gracie family deals with holidays such as Halloween. They allow the children to pick a few of the "better" pieces of candy and throw out the rest. We did that with K this afternoon. It was tough, but she did it! She gave her brother a piece of chocolate, her cousin the Fruit Roll Up and a sucker for herself. Yes, I do feel bad about throwing that away. It was a sweet idea of all her friends {plus she had cookies and ice cream and tons of sugar at school}, and it almost feels like we're saying we don't appreciate their effort. But I am so proud of her for being a big girl and doing that with very little tears.

I made it to the gym this morning for a 70 minute workout {another 2 miles jogged!}. I am feeling good. I am excited, yet dreading the scale tomorrow though. I'm not sure how to feel about it, but I know that I just need to take whatever number comes up and move forward with my day.

I hear you with the candy. My worst enemy right now is the hubs because the poor guy likes snacks, so he would go out to get milk and come with a ton of stuff plus my favorite candy bar. NOT GOOD, but I'm trying.
The best thing is to be together like you said. Have a great day! And Happy Birthday to your sweet angel :)

I am a sugar girl and hubby is a salty guy... and unfortunately my teens all are BOTH! So there is always (ashamed to admit it) in our house. But I am ok to not eat anything if it is NOT opened... but once it is... LOOK OUT!
Sounds like you had a nice day!
